ATONEMENT

1.  "The Atonement not only benefits the sinner but also benefits those sinned against—that is, the victims."

James E. Faust, The Atonement: Our Greatest Hope, October 2001 General Conference

2.  "The Atonement offers redemption from spiritual death and from suffering caused by sin."

Boyd K. Packer, The Touch of the Master's Hand, April 2001 General Conference

3.  "Faith in Jesus Christ and in His power to heal provide the abused with the means to overcome the terrible consequence of another's unrighteous acts.  When combined with complete repentance, the Atonement also affords the perpetrator a way to avoid the severe punishment the Lord has decreed for such acts."

Richard G. Scott, To Heal the Shattering Consequences of Abuse, April 2008 General Conference

4.  "Even with the trials of life, because of the Savior's Atonement and his grace, righteous living will be rewarded with personal peace."

Quentin L. Cook, Personal Peace: The Reward of Righteousness, April 2013 General Conference

5.  "Guilt is to our spirit what pain is to our body - a warning of danger and a protection from additional damage.  From the Atonement of the Savior flows the soothing salve that can heal our spiritual wounds and remove guilt.  However, this salve can only be applied through the principles of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance, and consistent obedience."

David A. Bednar, We Believe in Being Chaste, April 2013 General Conference

6.  "The Savior's suffering in Gethsemane and His agony on the cross redeem us from sin by satisfying the demands that justice has upon us.  He extends mercy and pardons those who repent.   The Atonement also satisfies the debt justice owes to us by healing and compensating us for any suffering we innocently endure."

D. Todd Christofferson, Redemption, April 2013 General Conference

7.  "If we have sinned or made mistakes- If we have made choices that we now regret- there is the precious gift of Christ’s Atonement, through which we can be forgiven. We cannot go back in time and change the past, but we can repent. The Savior can wipe away our tears of regret and remove the burden of our sins. His atonement allows us to leave the past behind and move forward with clean hands, a pure heart, and a determination to do better and especially to become better."

Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Of Regrets and Resolutions, October 2012 General Conference

8.  "If Christ had not made his Atonement, the penalties for mistakes would be added one on the other. Life would be hopeless. But He willingly sacrificed in order that we may be redeemed. And he said, ‘Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more.’”

Boyd K. Packer, The Touch of the Master’s Hand, April 2001 General Conference

9.  "It was understood from the beginning that in mortality we would fall short of being perfect. It was not expected that we would live without transgressing one law or another. If you have made no mistakes, then you do not need the Atonement. If you have made mistakes, and all of us have, whether minor or serious, then you have an enormous need to find out how they can be erased so that you are no longer in darkness."

Boyd K Packer, The Atonement, October 2012 General Conference

10.  "The power of healing is inherent in the Atonement of Jesus Christ."
Richard G. Scott, To Heal the Shattering Consequences of Abuse, April 2008 General Conference
